In 1978 my Aunt Martine and her husband Bruce established La Duchesse Anne in Mount Tremper, New York. The building that housed it was originally a boarding house dating from the mid 1800's. After almost twenty years of providing reasonably priced lodging and fine French cuisine,
the building burned to the ground.

While this was not a happy event for anyone, they were lucky. They were able to purchase a similar building built in 1850 that was being run as a bed and breakfast and was not more than a couple of hundred yards from our original location.

So now the torch has been passed.

My husband Frank was born and raised locally while I’m French born and arrived in the area at the age of 12. High school sweethearts, we went our own ways for college and reunited 6 years later to be married. That was 14 years ago. Having pursued a career in the corporate world of Manhattan
for the past 12 years, we decided to come back to our roots and regain the quality of life our family and 2 year old son Cooper deserves. We embrace our return and the family & community we have missed. As inn keepers, we open our doors and welcome you.
