It’s impossible to find an Inn around Carmel-by-the-Sea unless it’s outside of town, and there’s no point in doing that when Carmel is one of California’s most beautiful places. The Lamp Lighter Inn is one of the more popular Inns along the Pacific Coast Highway. It offers some fantastic opportunities to see the local area by foot, whether it’s to shop or see the local galleries during the day, to take a stroll along the streets in the evening when deciding which restaurants to dine in.
Carmel Lamp Lighter is hidden in an ancient grove of trees, as well as being just steps away from the renowned Carmel Beach. This Coastal Inn’s lush garden setting is magical. The secluded gazebos, fire pit, and hand-built birdhouses are inspired seating options that welcome guests the world over.
Guest rooms and cottages
Accommodation includes dual charming cottages, along with four guest rooms, with some including fireplaces. Each has private entrances and private baths. Each guest room and cottage is unique, with marble bathrooms, spacious sleeping and sitting areas, warm character, and amenities that include a telephone and television. They welcome both groups and families and some of the rooms are even pet-friendly. The rate includes a reception with wine and cheese. This reception is only listed on the website as being on certain days, but they’ve been known to offer it daily. The Inn’s Den serves up a continental breakfast every morning at 8:30 with bagels, muffins, boiled eggs, cereal, granola, yoghurt, fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and orange juice.
Carmel-By-The Sea is a village that excites visitors with Carmel Beach- the world’s most spectacular beach. A short drive away is the majestic Big Sur, and Pebble Beach is also close by. The Monterey Peninsula is a short drive away, and one to add to the list of nearby places to visit.The pet-friendly amenities extend to dog blankets and bowls in the guest’s room. A doggie shower is also available. To ensure that they remain safe when their owners go around town or to the beach, the Inn offers Pet Tags that display the name of the accommodation in case they get lost.
Visitors will be able to walk to the city centre in just 10 minutes. Other local attractions include Point Lobos State Reserve and Carmel Mission. Nearby restaurants include Constance Wine Room and II Fornaio, both just 150m from the Inn. The nearest bus stop is only 350m away. The Inn has its own private car parking, and guests can also park on the street as no parking restrictions are in place. Spaces are typically available.
Each room has its own distinct name. It’s hard to resist cottages and rooms with such names as. Bluebird Cottage, Hansel and Gretel Cottage, Sea Star Room, Sea Lion Room, Sea Otter Room, Porpoise Room, Dolphin Room, Early Bird Room, Tree Top Room, and Katydid Room. Each room sleeps between two and four people.
